Partnership for innovation: Robots in the service of nautical tourism

In collaboration with its partners, Marina Punat has embarked on an innovative project to develop autonomous robots tailored for use in marinas, aiming to enhance the efficiency of operational processes and organization of marina activities.
The project brings together leading experts from various fields. Marina Punat d.o.o., the primary project leader, is partnering with Probotica d.o.o., Subjekt d.o.o., and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Zagreb. Over a 24-month period of research and development, autonomous robots will be developed to reach Technology Readiness Level 7 (TRL7), focusing on assessing how robotization can improve marina operations. Additionally, the project will explore the impact of robot use on consumer habits, tourist satisfaction, and spending levels in the nautical tourism sector.

Innovative Robotic Systems for Marinas

The goal of this project is to develop an autonomous robotic system specifically designed for marina operations. The system will include mobile robots capable of performing various tasks, such as marina and vessel monitoring and patrolling, documenting vessel conditions, tracking risk factors, and managing logistics for supply deliveries and waste disposal. These autonomous robots will utilize sensors, smoke and gas detectors, thermal cameras, and other surveillance functionalities to ensure maximum safety and efficiency.

The project aims to achieve several key objectives: the automation and digitization of marina business processes, enhanced operational efficiency, improved user satisfaction, strengthened sustainability, and support for Marina Punat’s green and digital transition.
